Cape2Rio race 2025 – done
On December 27’th 2025 Lifgun and myself crossed the start line in Cape Town, single handed. 21 days, 6 hours and 22 minutes later we crossed the finish line in Rio de Janeiro: 8’th boat overall and first single handed boat.
As usual we arrived in the middle of the night – a pity, Rio is one of the most iconic landfalls in the world. Corcovado showed up the next morning anyway.

Cape2Rio race
I am thrilled to announce that I will be participating in the Cape2Rio race in 2025! Lifgun and myself will participate in the single handed division.
One of the biggest challenges I face, aside from the race itself, is the journey to get my boat to the starting line in Cape Town. Before the race even begins (December 27’th 2025), I will need to sail my Pegasus 50 from Slovenia to Cape Town. This leg of the journey will test my skills and endurance, it will be a big challenge to sail down to Cape Town for the second time.
The Cape2Rio race is not just a test of sailing prowess; it’s an opportunity to experience the beauty of the ocean and the thrillof competition. I am looking forward to the challenges and triumphs that await me on this remarkable journey.
